Made from our lavender and ribbon. Can be used as home decor, in a lingerie drawer, sheet closet, or near a bedside table or birthing area as an aromatherapy aid. Lavender is known for it's calming and relaxing effect. These wands are not heavily scented, until they are squeezed, and they then release their fragrance. They last (fragrance full when gently squeezed) for up to 100 years. Of course, the fresher the better. To use as a labor aid, I recommend the mother keep the wand close, and when she has a contraction gently squeeze the wand, and focus on the scent, trying to identify all the different notes, using it to visualize a lavender field or a lavender farm, or fond memories of summer. Aromatherapy is an effective tool because aroma triggers sensory information that travels faster than pain, and according to the gate theory or pain, the mind can only process a limited amount of sensory information at a time, and pleasurable scent trumps pain.
Lavender Wand Large
Current stock made from summer 2015 lavender. We have some color selection, but as we run out the colors will become more limited. They are all various sizes, but we have divided them into "large" and "small". This item makes a great gift for an expectant mother, or for brides maids at a bridal shower, or for the guests at a wedding. If you would like to custom order because of an event in the upcoming year, all lavender wands are made the first 2 weeks of July (must be made with fresh blooming lavender).
Please expect natural variations in all our products. We are not a factory, we may package something different one time than another because of what we have available. We do our best to produce the highest possible quality products. This does not mean there will never be a lump in the yarn (because I hit a squib while spinning, though I try to get all those out), or a little vegetable matter, or hand written labels if we were out of printer ink, or recycled packaging for shipping. We are sustainably minded and do our best. If you are really dis-satisfied with a product, please let us know and we will do our best to give store credit or replace the item as needed.
